Welcome FAQs

What happens after I enroll?

Once you make a plan selection our team of enrollment specialists will work to communicate directly with the carrier to submit your chosen plan enrollment. This (most often) includes the initial premium payment. If Remodel Health needs additional information to complete the initial premium payment, we will reach out with that request. Oftentimes the carrier requires additional processing time to fully process the enrollment. Once Remodel Health has submitted the enrollment to the carrier, we will send you a confirmation email. From there you will receive welcome material directly from the carrier that includes your member ID. The processing time varies according to the carrier.

Where do I go for help?

The best place to start for help is contacting Remodel Health. We can help to make sure your question gets to the right place in the quickest amount of time. Our email address is [email protected]. From here we will get your request to the right person and you will receive a fast response.

What if I have other health insurance coverage?

Health insurance is certainly confusing, especially if you have multiple options or coverages. If you do have multiple options or other coverages we want to know about this so that we can make sure and get you all the information you need to know. Having other sources of major medical insurance coverage is an especially important consideration with individual insurance. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have questions about this.

How do I know if my doctors are in-network?

One of the challenges to any medical insurance plan is making sure your medical providers are in network with your chosen insurance plan. The great thing about individual insurance is that typically you have lots of options to optimize your in-network coverage. Our first recommendation is always calling your provider and ensuring that your medical provider is in-network with the carrier (and type of insurance) that you are looking at. You can also search for your medical provider with the “Find my Doctor” tool available on any carrier website. This tool will give you a good idea of potential network coverage. Unfortunately network changes can happen at any time and so the best and most sure way to know if your medical provider is in-network in real time is to give your doctor a call and directly ask their office staff. Our benefits advisors are also available to assist you in making this important decision.

How do I get my insurance ID cards?

Once Remodel Health submits your chosen enrollment, the carrier will get to work at processing that enrollment. Physical ID cards can take additional time to arrive in your mailbox. However, Remodel Health is often able to access your virtual cards quicker to ensure you get those cards in a timely manner. If you are in need of your carrier Member ID, please reach out to [email protected].

Who makes my monthly premium payments?

As part of the Remodel Health services, we are typically able to make premium payments on your behalf to the insurance carrier. We then work with your organization to get those premiums payroll deducted from your paycheck. Even though these payments are submitted every month for you, you will likely still receive monthly premium statements from the carrier. This is normal and we encourage you to keep these for your records.

What do I do with insurance premium statements I get in the mail?

If Remodel Health makes premium payments on your behalf, you may still receive monthly premium statements from the carrier in the mail. This is normal. We encourage you to keep these statements for your records.

Can I change my plan once I am enrolled in a plan?

It depends. Depending on your circumstances you may or may not be able to change your plan. We would be glad to assess your situation and help you in making the best decision. You can reach out to us at [email protected].

How will I get reimbursed for my monthly premiums?

If you are receiving an ICHRA, most often the reimbursement amount you are receiving from your employer will be subtracted from your monthly premium.

What happens if my premium is more than my reimbursement amount?

If your monthly premium is more than the amount you are getting from your employer, the remaining amount will be deducted from your paycheck like a traditional health insurance plan.
